Singapore – December 4, 2023 – Leaseweb Global, a leading cloud services and hosting company, today celebrates 10 years of business in Singapore, providing the infrastructure that powers mission-critical websites, applications and IT systems for multiple customers across APAC, including LiquidM, Remerge GmbH, and Uptrends.
Leaseweb will also be commemorating the 10th anniversary by rebranding Leaseweb APAC to Leaseweb Singapore as a recognition of the significant organic growth seen in the region over the past few years.
Pieter Kraan, Leaseweb Singapore MD explains: “As Leaseweb celebrates ten years in the garden city, I am proud of the incredible growth over the past years. Leaseweb Asia Pacific was the gateway to expanding further into Asia and Oceania and has been the stronghold of our presence in the region for the past decade. During these years, we have grown our operations rapidly and added Leaseweb Australia, Hong Kong and Japan as independent entities in the Asia Pacific region. The company name Leaseweb Asia Pacific Pte Ltd does not clearly indicate our target market we are focusing on. For this reason, I am proud to announce our new company name Leaseweb Singapore Pte Ltd. The stories of our customers are a testament to the incredible accomplishments of our team in Singapore and I look forward to achieving even more in the coming years with this wonderful group of talented people.”
Earlier this year, Leaseweb Singapore announced a 300% growth in revenue and a 200% growth in employee headcount in the last 24 months. Singapore’s growth in revenue has been seen across multiple sectors with customers across gaming, adtech, martech, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) expanding their presence in the market.
This anniversary comes on the heels of a wider expansion for Leaseweb in the Asia Pacific region. In late 2022, Leaseweb announced the launch of its third data centre in Singapore, as well as new data centres in Tokyo and Sydney. In April 2023, Leaseweb opened its fourth data centre in Singapore, bringing the total number of data centre locations across the entire Asia Pacific region to 10.
“Ten years ago, Leaseweb branched out into Singapore to start a new chapter for both our customers and our company. Leaseweb APAC created a foothold for our customers in the region but also allowed us to tap into the abundant opportunities in Asia and Oceania”, said Con Zwinkels, founder and CEO of Leaseweb Global. “Today, we have grown so tremendously we can now proudly name it Leaseweb Singapore”.
