VMware HCI Use Cases
VMware HCI Key Features
Highly Redundant Infrastructure
Leaseweb’s HCI Private Cloud architecture ensures a built-in N+1 resiliency model to ensure your servers’ availability in the event of a component failure. HCI's High Availability (HA) feature provides automated monitoring and recovery for VMs in the event of host failures, ensuring minimal downtime. The HCI environment is designed to tolerate the failure of at least one of the hypervisors. This redundant capacity is already accounted for and included as a part of the initially contracted resources. Service Level Agreements are included by default.
No Noisy Neighbours
The advantage of our single-tenant HCI deployment is the exclusive environment. With dedicated resources and infrastructure, you can enjoy a virtual environment free from disruptions and resource contention, ensuring consistent and reliable performance for your critical workloads.
Network Security
Our Network Security solution utilizes VMware NSX (NSX-T) for comprehensive network and security virtualization. This enables you to uniformly manage security rules, operations, and automation across all your cloud environments. With NSX, your software—whether on virtual machines or in containers—is protected, and the risk of ransomware is minimized through advanced micro-segmentation techniques.
Hyper-converged Storage
Our vSAN hyper-converged storage solution integrates storage capabilities directly into the VMware vSphere hypervisor. This approach allows for a software-defined storage solution that pools together direct-attached storage devices across all servers within the VMware vSphere cluster to create a shared datastore that is fast, highly resilient, scalable, and easy to manage.
More Control
Leaseweb oversees all the fundamental software and hardware elements comprising your HCI service. However, with access to our array of management interfaces such as vCenter and NSX manager, you retain complete autonomy to administer every facet of the underlying infrastructure, all without our involvement.
Powerful API
Reduce manual maintenance tasks and take advantage of the vCenter API or automate in Powershell using cmdlets provided via PowerCLI. Control your infrastructure with automated tools or integrate your private cloud with your own systems.
Scalability
Initial deployment starts with a cluster of at least 4 physical servers or nodes, with the flexibility to scale as needed. You can add as little as a single node to manage more workload demands or bring up additional new clusters for larger deployment. This adaptability ensures you can efficiently manage the workload peaks of your project.
Add-ons
Backup
We have Backup as a Service powered by Veeam Technologies.
This solution allows you to back up your entire infrastructure or only those virtual machines requiring extra protection and continuity. For the virtual machines you chose, you can define your own retention policies, execute restore operations, and carry out many management tasks. We take care of the platform and keep it updated and patched at software and hardware levels.
Leaseweb hosts the backup platform, but you manage your backups. For specifics and details, please see this article.
