LeaseWeb Netherlands relocates Dutch headquarters to Amsterdam

LeaseWeb Netherlands has announced that it has relocated its headquarters to an office on the Luttenbergweg 8 in Amsterdam (South-East). The international hosting provider has signed a multi-year contract with Rijkswaterstaat, the property owner, for the former ING office. The building offers approximately 6700 m² of space, and is located beside the A9 highway.

XO Property Partners advised LeaseWeb on the transaction, while Beudeker Makelaars acted as advisors to Rijkswaterstaat.

LeaseWeb, a leading Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider, offers a range of different hosting solutions through its subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Germany and the United States. Services consist of Dedicated Servers, Cloud, Colocation, and Hybrid Infrastructure Solutions. To facilitate the growth of the Dutch subsidiary, LeaseWeb made the decision to relocate its headquarters from Haarlem to Amsterdam (South-East).

Con Zwinkels, Managing Director of LeaseWeb Netherlands, said: “Over the past few years LeaseWeb has grown tremendously, making it necessary for us to find an office that would support our current and future growth. Amsterdam is the center of the European Internet industry. Being one of the largest hosting providers in Europe, it was logical for LeaseWeb Netherlands to settle in this technological metropolis.”

As part of its sustainability program, LeaseWeb deliberately chose to reuse an existing office. This office will be radically altered over the upcoming months, with an emphasis on the sustainable and functional renovation of the building.

Zwinkels added: “Sustainability is one of LeaseWeb’s core values. This property gives us the ability to set up our new Dutch office in-line with our high standards in this area.”

Cedric Montanus, Partner of XO Property Partners commented: “In its search for a suitable location to base its Dutch business, LeaseWeb chose to reuse an existing office. This transaction shows that – through creativity and perseverance – existing office stock is suitable for reuse.”
